Some base with a high value multiplier suddenly got supply? Noumea is a possibility.

Looking at the numbers, it was his opponent that lost VPs, witpqs did not gain that many.
It would appear that some base suddenly went low on supply for his opponent.

But if I read it right, Japan Base VP was 7089 both turns - unchanged. What am I missing?

Warofthe2ndWorld -> RE: 1945 May 29 (2/18/2022 8:39:51 PM)

Because I'm not fully caught up in the AAR, and I'd curious to see what surprises have occurred over the course of this game.

(And you can answer it this way:
1941 - event, etc.
1942 - event, etc.
1943 - event, etc.
1944 - event, etc.)

I don't have a list. We've been playing this one for more than 4 years. [:)]

One thing I can say is that if you add up the numbers that are supposed to equal the VPs, they do not add up to what is reported as the total VPs. [&:]

I think that the number shown for the Base VPs is the total without taking into account supply levels.

OK, I was thinking along those lines but I really didn't know if the tallies behaved that way. Thanks!

I'll just have to go for 3 to 1 to be certain. [:'(]

• Enemy movement away from Tsuyung continues. The trouble is it includes large forces which were not defeated/retreated, plus it includes the forces retreated from Kunming. The Provisionl Tank Brigade and the 268th Motorised Brigade will move to smash the enemy just retreated from Neikiang, then they will move to a favorable blocking position in a woods-rough hex to the west where the enemy withdrawing from Tsuyung can be prevented from joining the upcoming battles on the Chungking plain.

• One small unit has moved into the hex between Neikiang and Chungking and there is no more movement seen by recon of Chungking. In 2 days the Chinese Army 28th Corps will cross the river into that small unit. The will open up the strategic road movement route from Kweiyang to Neikiang.

• An air HQ will airlift into Neikiang right away. base forces and AA will follow when the strat road route is open.

• There was no shock attack on crossing into Hong Kong because, er, it was changed to not be a crossing a long time ago.

• Enemy units are moving to block our Amoy task force.

• 3,879 AV at Hong Kong. Assault tomorrow.

• Enemy still retreating from Tsuyung.

• The attack north of Neikiang retreated 3 of 4 enemy and about half the troops. The rest go tomorrow!

• The speed bump between Neikiang and Chungking was destroyed; now support units will move to Neikiang from Kweiyang by truck.

• Enemy units has appeared just east of the road hex between Tuyun and Kweiyang; we have a Bde moving to the road hex to keep it open.

• For reasons unknown our CL bombardment of Hong Kong did not go in. We are having difficulty getting enough fuel to Kwangchowan and the ships might have been short on ops points to make the night run.

• 3,593 AV at Hong Kong. One day to recover minor disruption and give some of the air groups a rest (A-20G Havoc are getting slaughtered).

• Amoy recon shows 2 units, 6,140 troops, 40 guns.
