Steam mech and early mech are the coolest. [:D]

It looks very cool. I like the artwork it's based on too.

Cheers, Neilster

That's an odd Picture with the guns blazing and then below the farmers harvesting wheat.

The game is based on a boardgame called Scythe...

I would prefer to see that in a BattleTech universe. ICE powered IndustrialMechs ( = walking construction machines and whatever else) with work equipment exchanged for heavy arsenal and armour has been written in the books since 1980's (starting from novel Mercenary's Star) and it had heavy emphasis in miniature games derived from HeroClix ( = Dark Age). Otherwise BattleTech universe has just as much diversity (or even more so) in technology as we can see in Firefly TV series, where animals carry and pull stuff around in vicinity of a spaceport. I hope upcoming BattleTech game has at least modding support for that, where player is hired to patrol around water purification plant (its destruction would be huge disaster) surrounded by farms and escort animal caravan.

A lot of the appeal of the art is the juxtaposition of steampunk and traditional rural European scenes. I think the idea in this picture is that this host has just appeared and is advancing against some still distant enemy while bewildered peasants pause from their harvest.

I remember Led from Wasteland and myself had a WW1 Steam punk and Mech wargame idea using the Battle Academy engine but Lez went with his Master of Magic type game.

Really? I see about the same mechs, same characters, and of course itīs a board game, itīs not like Iron Harvest is a port over to PC, but hey thatīs fine with me. Maybe it all has to do with legal issues, who knows...
