In the scenario “d-day to Ruhr”, do the mulberries stay embarked and fill the sea road gap or do they disembark on the beach at the end of the sea road?

12. Mulberries
These were artificial port facilities manufactured by the Allies. They consisted of different sections of concrete caissons protected by artificial breakwaters. They were simply known as 'Mulberry A' and Mulbery B'. 'A' was to be placed at Omaha Beach in support of US forces, and 'B' was to be placed at Gold Beach in support of British/Canadian forces.
In the scenario, the two Mulberries arrive on June 8th and are used to bridge the gaps in sea supply roads. This will increase the supplies flowing to the beaches and will also increase Allied replacements. On June 19th, a large storm will temporarily make both Mulberries unusable. Storm damage to Mulberry A will render it useless for the remainder of the scenario. Mulberry B will resume functioning on June 22nd. Note that historically the Mulberries were permanent once placed, but in the scenario they can be moved to represent Allied concentration of supplies to a certain area.
Do not repair the broken sea supply roads.

Thanks. I did read this in the briefing. So I just park these units embarked in the sea road gap?

Ok, I will re-clarify the briefing [:)]

It's been a while since I played this one, but I'm pretty sure that the gap is bridged whether the Mulberry is embarked or not. You can verify this if you don't mind. I seem to remember that, while it isn't necessary to, I would disembark them while they are parked there, and embark them to move to another location.

OK I tested this out. With Mulberries disembarked on the beach the supply source "trace" starts at 11 and decreases going out. However, with mulberries embarked and sitting in the "sea road gap" the supply source trace starts at 21 and decreases going out.

Thank You ! I have added this to clarify the Document. Your check is in the mail [:D]

I read that you convert the D-Day amphib ports into Mulberries using the city detail window. Anyone know how you can do this?

I happened to visit Garlieston, the place in Scotland where the Mulberries were tested because the tidal range was similar to Normandy.
