Hi friends. I looked around and didn't see this question so I will ask it. Do we have a choice of which COUNTERS we use or must we use just the Standard Nato COUNTERS? Thanks in advance for the reply.

It's NATO counters only. We have left the old 3D unit icons in as well, but that's simply a legacy feature we have not removed, but not actively supporting either (hence no mention in the feature list).

Although if someone were ambitious, it's pretty easy to create new counters. They are basically just stencils on top of the counter. I think they're called CounterUnit, s_CounterUnit and h_CounterUnit.

Since they support full Alpha channel, an artist could probably do all kinds of neat things.

Hi Ken7,
It happens there is currently another discussion about this in the modding forum:

"Change Graphics to Non-Nato Icons"

Yes, but I loved the old bitmaps you could edit just with MS Paint and edit the color, icon and create a bigger flat counter all in one.

Thanks for the site JPJ. I kinda like the little men and little tanks and little airplanes icons. I'm too freaking old to learn the nato counters. (whimping out) I would probably buy the game if I could just click on Icons and change them to the little guys I mentioned earlier.
