Well I know there is no such thing as an eerie-gardless, and there are many regardlesses about, but what happened to the original "gardless".
Did the re-gardlesses kill off the original? Is that why we are dissing the regards?
Once we get rid of all the regards, do we work on the regorns?
Never mind..., too deep a topic for this audience!

My understanding is that the term refers to irrigation engineers and whether they regard flood guards at all, regardless of whether those guards are less re or not. As a point of fact, without regard to any other facts, it is my conclusion that Isengard is immune to flooding as demonstrated in "The Return of the King".

Cousin Itt is sitting at a bar having a drink. Thing is busy washing mugs. Gomez enters the bar without passing the LSAT. Morticia wonders why Pugsley can tend bar at his age. Wednesday passes into Thursday. What does any of this mean? Itt stands to reason.

Aurorus -> RE: Interesting issue with the Babes lite...Disregard... (12/6/2017 3:32:26 AM)

In order to disregard this thread, I think some clarification of the word "regard" and the prefix "dis" is necessary.

The word "regard" entered English via a patois of Northern France, where the word "regardar," which meant "to observe carefully," was created. The word "regard" is related to other English words, which entered the langauge via the same channel, such as "guardian," "garter" (as in "garter belt"), or even "avante garde," which comes directly from modern French. The word also entered the Spanish, from the old Northern French patois, as "guardar." The Old Northern French word, regardar," was a verb produced from a change in pronunciation of the Old German "wer," which entered the Germanic languages from from the Latin "vereri," which has a similar meaning: "to watch or to observe carefully." from which we derive, in English, "verify," or in Latin, "veritas." The word "wer" (pronounced "ver") also entered English directly from the Germanic languages and was mixed with the Old French pronunciation to produce such English words as "reward," "warden," and "award."

The prefix "dis" comes directly from the Latin, where it tended to connote "a taking apart," as in "disassemble" or disestablishmentarianism.

I hope this helps everyone disregard this thread.

It is dismissed without prejudice, meaning it can be refiled, or regarded, at a later date in a different Indo-European language.
