5 November 1943 A grim day at the Marianas. The Americans have returned... To Tinian!!!! This time around they find the defences are somewhat more stout but what a land force they have landed to contest the beaches this time. Elsewhere I mess up with my orders and allow my carriers to wander outside the protection of land based air cover. Mundy's carriers make the most of this opportunity and I have to say a regretful goodbye to a big portion of my remaining effective carrier strength.
