Hello guys

I was wondering if there is away to get inactive missions activated due to certain actions by an opposing side.

To clarify , say if i'm designing a mission where I want to guard an airspace , so I created an AAW mission and kept it inactive ,to save fuel for it to be automatically activated if an Arial intrusion is spotted in a certain predefined area, is it something that can be done via the Trigger tool in scenario editor.

if so , please tell me how , and if not , what are the possible alternative ways of making this possible

Regards

Couple of ways you can do this.

Just using the event editor you can construct a conditional event by pairing triggers with a mission status action. The manual covers this in detail.

You can also use lua scripting to do the same which offers significantly more options. There is a Set_Mission function where inactive is one of the options.

It possible and done all the time. Might I suggest taking a look at some of the tutorial videos. Getting a mission, especially an strike/intercept mission, activated due to a unit entering a specific zone is one of the most common event manager tasks. The action to activate a mission and the trigger for a unit entering an area are actually detailed fairly well in the manual on pages 110-112.
