I am about 5 weeks into my first grand campaign, playing as the Allies versus the AI. What is the use of Port Stanley? There was a cargo TF of about 4 xAK that were sent there from the beginning (DBB Lite, December 8 start), and I'm not altogether sure what to do with them. There's very little supply and fuel in PS. What do most people do with PS?

I have got about 2,000 turns in as the Allies but don't think I have looked at Port Stanley in about seven years.

Port Stanley generally isn't relevant to the game, but there's no doubt clever players might find some creative way to make use of the base. The only time I've seen it actually factor into a game was John III vs. NYGiants, about a year ago. John pushed very deep into SoPac, taking Tahiti. Michael used Port Stanley as the marshalling point to initiate offensive action, beginning with occupying and building up some of the islands SE of Tahiti.

Same as CR, playing against AndyMac's latest Nasty I used Pt Stanley as my supply hub until I got a foothold in the Tahiti area.

Thanks for the fast responses. I will keep them in mind.

There are some Automatic supply convoys (the ones that appear as LCUs when they arrive) that go to Port Stanley to keep it going without any construction going on. I usually send a couple of small convoys of supplies every year so the engineers there can build the port and airfield in case they are needed for staging as others have noted. Otherwise, it keeps a lonely vigil against the arrival of the German Far East Squadron under Admiral Graf von Spee ...
ooops, wrong war! [:'(]
