I used a yellow roundel with an aircraft symbol in TOAW III

No it's not new. They have always been under the unit counters. That's the reason there's an option to float them above the unit counters. That option has been there forever.

Take another look at the first post on the thread. In TOAW3 they did stick out from under the edges. I believe they did in ACOW as well, but I can't find my CD and screenshots of that old a version proved impossible to find online.

Lobster -> RE: Request - better placed and sized sea/airport icons (12/12/2017 12:26:05 PM)

I have all of the game versions. If I'm looking for an airfield I'm not wasting my time peering at the corner of every hex that has a unit in it to see if I can find one. I'm floating them. Doesn't matter what version I have. It's faster than any graphics thing you can do that makes a corner stick out someplace. I was just pointing out that airfields have always been under counters and for many of us it's not a problem. If we need an airfield we float them. If you are someone who wants to peer at every hex to find an airfield instead of doing the easy thing and floating them, fine. I think one of the great things about this game is how you can modify your graphics to fit your own personal tastes. Good luck. [;)]

BTW, Silvanski's version is the best IMO.

I hadn't posted anything but I've been fiddling around with this for the last few days and have managed to get all of what I want at huge, and since I mostly play at that zoom level I'm happy overall. I was able to get a half win at large 2d - roughly on par with TOAW3 - with the icons poking out under the edges of the counters so I don't have to toggle them on and off if I'm not sure exactly where the port I'm looking for is. 2d small was mostly done mostly just to have the same style at all 3 zoom levels.

I'd like to thank both Silvanski, for the Airport Icon I ended up using and sPzAbt653 for all the help he gave as I was trying to get started.

And here's the mod files themselves.

gbaby -> RE: Request - better placed and sized sea/airport icons (12/17/2017 12:44:58 PM)

Thank you, this helps a heap!

Tanx, very nice job. To set victory objective point on the right of tile: player option > edit font > objective font and set offsetXoverride 36 and offsetYoverride 3.

Hey ninja81,

How do I get this nice grid outline, as in your screenshot?

ninja81 -> RE: Request - better placed and sized sea/airport icons (12/20/2017 12:41:10 AM)

Grab this, there are 2 type of grid: light like a picture and more grey. ;)

Thank you very much! I think these are a great improvement over the default one [8D]
