samba_liten -> Polarenper and his far too ambitious project is back! (12/11/2017 7:12:18 PM)

Hi guys,

Thanks to those who remembered me, commented in my old thread and e-mailed me. It was very flattering to be remembered like that. For those who weren't around back in the stone-age, here is a link to what I was up to: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2575936

Unfortunatley I've long since lost whatever work I had done on the map, but I still have my sources, and this new TOAW IV looks very nice. Hence, I'm about to start this up again. It took me, what, 6 years to half-way finish the map last time, so don't get your hopes up though!

Now, What are the limits for map size and named locations in this new version? I've noticed there are new mapscales already. Love it! Also, does anyone still have that nifty map tool that could overlay a correctly scaled hex-grid on an image? I fear my copy has been lost along with all the rest of the scenario when my old old laptop gave up the ghost a few years back!

Also, Klink, your inbox is full so I can't reply!

So it begins...tomorrow, after work. 490,000hexes to paint!

Lobster, are you the author of the books on the site in your sig?

[&o] awesome news... I was pleased to see a nice Berlin scenario included in TOAW IV, but your project may well overshadow that

Nigel is the author of the books, with Jack as his supporting arm, so to say.

They've been on my wishlist since before they were actually published. Now if the Ukrainian Hryvnia would just stabilize for half a mo' i might actually be able to buy them!

Nice to see this gets going again!

As O. Klink said, Nigel Askey is the author. He has more information on Barbarossa in one place than likely anyone on the planet. [:D]

I'm just the map maker/oob grinder.

Been a time when we heard anything, did this project go along well?
