Hi, I have two questions
1, Question about manual "8.3 unit resubordination": will cross attach cause any command delay at current turn cycle?
2, How long a smoke screen will last? is there any discussion about this topic? for my understanding this is a random value depends on weather condition, but I want to know the range.

I'll leave the first question to Capn Darwin.

A smoke screen may last from 5 minutes to an hour or longer, average 30 minutes.
The smoke screen's duration is more random than weather influenced, something we might be able to improve upon for Southern Storm.

For #1, Not 100% sure, I don't think so, but I would have to dig into the code to be sure. Should be easy to test a unit with a given order and see if cross attaching impacts the time. The bigger issue with cross attaching is the increasing amount of radio traffic to and from the HQ. This hits readiness more and also make the HQ more likely to be detected and then targeted by enemy arty or air assets.
