As a newbie to this game I have come to the conclusion that this game is an onion game meaning that it has many layers which I have not yet come to understand.
I have have played this game in the complete campaign so far not good. Always around turn 10 I get bogged down around solmemsk and Gomel just a wall of Russian troops.

Can not get my head around the surply issues. I keep my corps HQ up with the troops my army HQ in the big city's as I get them but no good.

This time I have pushed way down south to the Romanian boarder and pushed on up through Kharkov this time it is working the reds are pulling back still have surplies proplems
Pushing forward to Leningrad slow and it is only September can't wait for the winter when the reds come in force.
Still not worked out what the labour troops do looks like that they do their own thing. I have set the army HQ to do a build up not sure what this will do. But each time I have played this game I learnt something new which is good thing for a game always learning.

This game reminds me of tallon softs eastern front game I played years ago which was good to play then. I have been looking for year's for a game to replace it.w

Welcome ulsterandy. For sure a tough game to master. So many detailex rules to start with and then they changed them over the years. Use this forum to learn, plenty of people willing to give advice and clarifications. Manual will only give you the basics.

You should perhaps read chapter 20 from the manual, it's mostly about supply.

20.1.1 is about railheads and rail network, that's an important thing to understand. Repairing the rails with your FBD units is one of the most important aspects in the game, you should plan beforehand where you're heading.

20.4 is about tracing supply. Really important, especially for panzer corps. Keep your panzer corps HQs as close to the railhead as you can, and keep all units under those HQs a maximum of 5 hexes and 20 MPs from the HQ. Army HQ and Army Group HQ placement isn't that important, just keep them in a central location close to HQs in their command (unless they have units directly in their command, which is usually not that efficient).

It never hurt a newbie to go through the MarauderPL YouTube campaign. It starts here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMbU1Tk2ooM
It is outdated by now (version changes/updates), but it can point you in the right direction.

Have you got the 'Condensed rules' - slightly out of date now but still essential, and also check our the first post by EvK in the war room.

I would advice the following: Every time you have a question or an uncertainty stop playing and look it up in the manual.

You may find that extremely tedious at first, but you will learn a lot.
