OK guys here is the latest in the Northern Fury series. Relatively small but I found it fun.

This scenario is playable by NATO:

You are commanding the USS Wisconsin Task Group and are charged with destroying several coastal fortress that were built by the Norwegians to fend off an attack from the sea. The Soviets are now manning these guns and have expended a reasonable amount of ammunition to become proficient with them. You also need to insert a Special Forces team undetected into the mountains near the Swedish border – but most of all you need to convince the Soviets that we are very interested in this area.

I am also renumbering them all and the next scenario pack will have the adjusted numbers. The Zip includes an updated background document.

As always, very interested in your critiques and comments. That's how these scenarios get better.

Great scenario and good history behind all the scenarios.
I love littoral warfare. Looking forward for some FPB action in "Lance to the Chest" and for the baltic fury scenarios!

My comments (before I jump in):

Might want to call this Northern Fury 13.8 - Blast From the Past rather than NF 42, as it currently breaks the pattern of NF scenarios
Briefing says you have 2 TLAMs left but there are 3 in the game
Maybe a note in the briefing on how to deploy the SOF team?

The next scenario pack will have all scenarios in a sequential number, I was confusing myself with them so thought it would be easier this way.

Scored an average within the time limit. Only losses were one of my SH-3s early to a SAM, and then 2 of my Pioneers when the hangar they were stored in came under fire from a hidden artillery battery. Took out the patrol boat with a harpoon, and the sub was actually spotted by my Pioneer, and pounced on by my other helicopter. I was only able to take out Coastal Fort Skrolsvik before time ended. I might suggest having the sub out to sea at game start so it doesn't have to go shallow and get spotted, and maybe a point penalty or at least a warning not to use your Harpoons/TLAMs, as I found them easy instakillers. I also discovered that the Phalanx is extremely effective against those Styx missiles - 70% chance to hit!

Thanks Excroat3.

I'll reduce the TLAMS down to the 2 it should be, and also the Harpoons down to a couple. If you use them on the fishing boats you'll lose enough points and the Pauk is going to be chewed up anyway, and any use of air will find it.

Going to chew on the sub. It's a Foxtrot so any time at sea and it will die quickly. My thought was that is would be a mobile torpedo battery, but it is easy to spot. In my tests I lost he Seasprite going after it 2 out of 3 times to a hidden SA-15.

Spotting it with an RQ-2 is new [:D], I went in with active sonar blazing and found it pretty quick.

On one of my goes, the hidden arty got a phalanx and 5 Styx hit the BB, causing 21% and knocking out a bunch of sensors and one gun turret - so it can happen.

I got lucky with the SA-15s, my Pioneers seemed to be able to fly right over them without drawing their fire. I was flying just under the cloud cover (literally 9999 ft when the clouds were at 10k), so maybe that had something to do with it.
