Requires Chains of War

So this is my first mission for COMANO, it's based off an old mission I enjoyed playing in Janes Fleet Command. It's fairly simple in it's design and should play well.

I appreciate any constructive criticism you might have as i'm still learning the ropes of the editor. Also... Happy New Year everybody!

Enjoy [:)]

Australia vs. Indonesian Milita

Date/Time: 5th October, 1999 / 21:30:00 Zulu.
Location: Timor-Leste.
Playable Sides: Australian Defence Force.

The recent civil war has prevented East Timor from receiving much needed relief supplies. In addition heavy rains and flooding and the discovery of encephalitis have depleted further existing stocks and made the delivery of medical supplies and food staples imperative.

Your mission is to deliver three cargo ships of aid supplies provided by the WHO and the UN to the harbor at Dili in East Timor.

The presence of Timorese militia will complicate matters. Expect resistance if not outright hostility to your mission of mercy.

- Edit. Fixed a few spelling mistakes plus fixed some messages that didn't show up properly.

Great small scenario but one minesweeper does not seem to be enough. It dies of attrition pretty quick. I did the job eventually, but the minesweeper was pretty damn beat up and nearly sunk. I could use an additional minesweeper ship or an additional minesweeping-capable helo, if you happen to have one around somewhere :)

Yeah cheers mate. I considered adding another MHC but it wasn't really warranted. We also don't have any Mine hunter/sweeping capable helo's in the ADF either.

Now i'm not 100% on how the mechanics work in COMANO regarding mine-clearing but it definitely took me a few tries to develop my own way of doing it without damaging the MHC. You don't necessarily have to clear the entire harbor area of mines just make a path straight for the docks that will allow your Cargo ships though.

I'd suggest clearing the mines manually instead of simply setting a mine-clearing mission because the MHC simply wont maintain a standoff distance to the mine on it's own. travelling at 1-2kts and using the almost maximum range of your Cable cutter and Magnetic sweep will detonate the mines far enough away that they wont do damage to your MHC. Also, as soon as a mine has been detected, do a full 360° turn with your MHC and it will detonate the detected mine/mines and usually other mines out of it's visual/sonar range.

Well, live and learn. I always thought attrition in minesweepers is inevitable. I will try your suggestions thanks a lot.

Played the scenario, found it funny.
I think a lone minesweeper is right to do the job, having so few units let you micromanage the sweeping.
Maybe to add a little more challenge i would add manpads to the rebels to protect the naval guns from the F111s.

Cheers mate. I thought of maybe putting in MANPADS but the F-111 can still be taken down with some well placed AAA.It's a good beginner scenario.
