Kantti -> Air doctrine and how NOT to respond to interdiction (1/6/2018 6:01:40 PM)

Hi all!

I am now facing odd situation where my opponent is flying ton of well escorted interdiction missions. If any of my planes take to the skies to defend my units they get totally whacked by 50-100 escorting messerschmits. I am wondering is there any option how to prevent fighters flying to resist interdiction other than changing all to Night mode and then back to normal mode after I am done with moving units?

Try to change in the Air doctrine the Fighter intercept to 0.

The required to fly is another parameter .. if required to fly is 100% only units with a completely filled out unit will intercept ... 50% means that units with at LEAST 50% ready to fly vs. total TO&E will fly.

I guess somewhat related to this, let's say I want to bomb the opponent and the AI wants to send 100 fighters and 100 bombers, and my requirement to fly is 50%. Does that mean that the bombing will be launched if 50 fighters and 50 bombers can fly out, will it launch if 100 bombers and 0 fighters can fly out, or is that referring to the wing size? So only wings with 50% operational aircraft will go out, and not related to the mission?

The percentage required to fly only relates to the air group complement to its nominal maximum. So if you have an airgroup with a maximum of 40 planes which has only 19, and your percentage requiered to fly is 50%, that airgroups will not fly in anything. The other air doctrine settings (not percentage required to fly) that follow it are the ones that relate to how many planes the AI will try to send in a mission if it can.

Thanks. I was hoping that there was an easy way to avoid the AI sending level bombers to do suicide runs on airfields when I accidentally don't shift click on the enemy's base...
