gwgardner -> trying to simplify time lapse in my mind (1/8/2018 11:07:41 PM)

The passage of time during a turn has sometimes been confusing to me, but I THINK this simple statement explains it. Anyone please correct me, if it isn't right:

After clicking on 'execute planned battles,' the most number of rounds used is the most number of movement points used by a unit in any battle, plus any extra rounds for prolonged battle.

From what I understand of reading the manual, TOAW IV time is not progressing in rounds (called "TIME STAMPS", which represent 10ths of a turn) based on the *most* movement points used by any unit (plus extra rounds for prolonged battle), but rather the *median* of movement points used by all active units (as a percentage of the units' individual per-turn movement allotments) (plus extra rounds for prolonged battle). This is updated every time you press the "execute planned battles" button, which is also the "end turn" button depending on how much time has passed - they both have the same hotkey "e". Refer to Section 14.1 on page 92 of the manual for details.

Looking at the manual I can see that it fails to explain in detail the passage of time and how it applies to time stamps, rounds and movement. It kind of brushes over it and I guess expects you to figure out the details?
