Sorry, this has always been a point of confusion for me, even in WitE --

Can Army HQs commit combat support units to a battle? Or can only Corps HQs do this?

Say an Infantry Div. is directly attached to an Army HQ (no Corps intervening). If that Inf. Div. gets into a battle and is within 5 hexes of the Army HQ (and the Army HQ has combat SUs -- say, a combat engineer battalion) -- can the Army HQ commit the Eng. Btn. to the battle?

Yes.

Will Army HQs commit SUs to a battle if there is a Corps HQ that the engaged Divisions, Brigades etc. are attached to?

I assume there are added checks an Army HQ has to pass, making it harder than a Corps HQ to commit SUs, or?

And is the same system used in WitE?

Thanks.

No, you only get support unit commitments from the HQ the combat unit is directly attached to. As far as I know this system hasn't changed and is the same in WitE and WitW.

OK -- thanks much for the clarification.

I have to say, after *many* fits and starts, I've finally gotten the hang of WitW and am tremendously enjoying playing as WA in the main campaign. Really glad I stuck with it!
