Gonna buy a grand scale Napoleon game - which one do you recommend

EMPIRE IN ARMS
CROWN OF GLORY EE
WARS OF NAPOLEON

Thanks - looking forward to experts answers

Sorry coachi, I've only played this one as a computer game, so I have nothing to compare against. I haven't tried PBEM for this either. I've generally found, at the start of an AI game you fight for your life playing France and if you get the upper hand, you usually stay there. The game keeps me coming back.

Be sure to pick up all the fixes lucr and I have posted to correct some of the little nagging glitches (there's still some minor ones I hope can be worked around or fixed), if you decide to buy this one.

Good playing!

You can check out this link

I have not played Wars of Napoleon, but have played Empire in Arms (EiA).

I found the AI in EiA to be very weak and unchallenging. This being said, development is active on EiA and they may have improved the AI.

I found EiA to be a very good first step towards a more in-depth game like COGEE. EiA is simpler to learn for someone starting in Napoleonic wargames.

COGGE is on a grander scale and suitable for a gamer who wants more, like me. The investment in time to learn is however much greater with COGEE, but you will get more out of it.

If you are a fan of Napoleonic wargames, you should find COGEE a very enjoyable game.

BTW, if you get COGEE, I have collected and packaged several mods and fixes for it which are posted in the "Mods and Scenarios" section.

I only played COGEE, i bought it few years ago. At this time, i found it hard to understand all the gameplay aspects.
I was experienced with Paradox games (EU, CK, ...), but never tried a game with such complexity before.

Few weeks ago, i wanted to try again COGEE with the Consolidated Mods and Fixes thx to lucr41.
I read one manual which has saved my life: the EconGuide manual is a must to read before starting a game.
I am focusing on PBEM games, so i didn't experimented too much the detailed battles, but now i understand all other parts of the game thx to the EconGuide.
Finally the game is not difficult to master (detailed battles excepted in my case), but reading carefully the EconGuide manual and some parts of the COGEE-Manual-[EBOOK] manual is a must.

Now i am enjoying this game so much that i highly recommend it to Napoleonic fans or simply wargames amateurs.
The gameplay is rich and complex, but easy and very enjoyable to play, a good balance between overview and micro-gestion.
The solo is great with the optional detailed battles and events, and the multi in PBEM is also very good (the gameplay is well adapted to PBEM, and the game has a very good replay).

After mastered COGEE, i am ready to try AGEOD games (BoA2 and co.).
I am also very interested in any comparaison between COGEE and AGEOD Wars of Napoleon. The features look quite similar (except the detailled battles), has anyone tried this game before?
