ORIGINAL: tula1959 Have found a rather serious bug!? Today while playing Assault on Budapest scenario I was very surprised when able to fire THROUGH an intervening smoke hex!! I was playing as Egyptians and letting the AI have the Israelis...got my engineers in position to advance into the mined/blocked hex, laid smoke in the hexes between that hex and the hilltop, smoke was laid down at the start of the next turn and I advanced the engineers into the minefield...and much to my surprise they took opfire right through the smoke hexes! To double check this I took manual control of both sides and found was able to fire through from either side. Tried it again on several more turns and same result!! Smoke is not endlessly high. Smoke height is rated at 20 meters high. It is entirely possible that units at a higher elevation can fire over smoke. It depends on the geometry of the situation. quote:
Yesterday while playing Assault on an Ancient City I likewise ran in to a similar issue - playing as Israelis with Arab AI - I found my units taking fire from hexes that DID NOT have a line of sight to them!!! Has anyone else encountered anything similar??? And/or can others attempt to verify what I am seeing here!? Save file, please? Without more detail, without precise details, it is difficult to assess this one way or the other.
