Vielen Dank, Oberst - I'm definitely planning on running through your tutorials as my next step, I am just giving the manual a cursory once-through to help me understand some of the basic mechanics first. :) Another question I ran into is some ambiguity (in my mind) about the "digging in" process. I think the fact that I *just* learned Panzer Campaigns is probably cluttering my thought on this one as, in PzC, you don't want one of your units "caught" in a "digging in" posture. I.e., in PzC, if your unit is current set as "digging in" and comes under attack, you'll incur a defense penalty. Reading between the lines of the manual, it seems as though this is not the case in TOAW. If you set a unit to "dig in", it will continue to dig in until it brings the hex to "fortified" status (or you give it other orders). My current understanding though is once the unit brings the hex to a new level of entrenchment, it would enjoy those defensive benefits even if attacked by an enemy unit while still in "dig in" deployment mode. Does that sound about right?
