piotre -> Is there a way for checking LOS from an unoccupied hex? (1/31/2018 8:13:23 PM)

The thread title is basically my question: is there a way for checking LOS from an unoccupied hex?

I normally check LOS using the "Display visible hexes" command, but that only works for hexes which are occupied by friendly units.

It would be useful to be able to do so from any hex for planning purposes.
Can it be done in some way?

Not with Fog of War in play. You can without the option checked.

With Extreme Fog of War and Fog of War in play, you're using your skills as a commander to interpret the landscape and determine LOS.

Thanks for your reply [:)].
I always play with FOW on, so I guess I'll have to adapt.

Playing with FOW on is definitely the way to play!

+1

Yes brings the air of the unknown into the game nicely!

Absolutely FoW is the only way to play. Personally, I'm good with the change to not highlighting unoccupied heads. Still, I know there are some that don't care for the change. IMO, the better way to have handled this would have been to keep the old way under FoW and use the new system under the Extreme FoW optional rule. Choices are good, particularly so when you make chnges like this to a long-standing game system like this.

Again, jmho..
