The final approach of at least some ballistic missiles appears to be messed up. Long before they reach their target, they enter a cruise-missile profile, flying at a low and level altitude to the target. See the DF-26C's approaching Tinian in the attached savegame.

Edit: Command v1.13 Build 972.14

I may be mistaken, but some of the DF missiles have a glide vehicle for a re-entry vehicle. Just a guess.

Hi,

I tried this in the current v1.14 beta, using a "fresh launch" DF-26. The missile and the RV both flew as expected, on a parabolic trajectory. For instance, at a distance of 22nm from the impact point, the RV was still at an altitude well over 9km (and falling rapidly, of course).

However, I do recall that this issue was present at a much earlier version, and it was fixed.

Any chance that the actual launch and trajectory was run in a much earlier build, and thus you only observed it in B972.14?

In any case, on the current build this problem does not seem to manifest itself. Can you please confirm?

Thanks.

Yup, that would explain it. I never heard of glide vehicles, but I just googled it. I keep learning so much from this game. Having said that, in this same scenario (Chains of War, Hail Mary), I've seen the glide vehicles pass through mountains (a negative altitude AGL) on their way to Iloilo airport. Unfortunately I don't have a saved game for that right now.

Edit: this was a reply to thewood1. Dimitris, no, I started this scenario this weekend, right after downloading an update from steam.

Edit 2: confirmed, v1.14 fixes the problem.
