sparrs -> Severe lag in Naval Combat screen (5/29/2003 5:49:33 PM)

Hi
I experianced severe lag last night in an Naval Combat routine. Basically, everything slowed to a halt, the graphics of burning ships ran slow as well as combat routines. Also, I think air to air routine is a little laggy as well, but certainly not as bad as the Naval Combat.
My specs:
MSI Geforce 3 Ti200, with 43.51 drivers
Athlon XP 2600+
512 Corsair XMS 3500.
Abit NF7-S motherboard.
Dirext x 9.0
Desktop resolution is 16bit, 1280*1024, game is running at 1024*768.

I am thinking along the lines that the video card drivers have not been optimised for 2D. Do you have a recommended driver version?

Thanks for your help,

Kevin

No one?
Is it a DX9 bug? Getting annoying now, as I have to miss the naval action screen and go straight to reports.

I honestly don't know what could be the problem. It's not DX9 though since I'm running with that as well.

Did you have this problem the very first time you played UV or is this something recent?

Just recent, since I built my new system. I have tried driver version 41.07 from MSI site, and things seem a little better, but its still slow. At least its playable now though.

I get this too occasionally. However, it doesn't last more than one turn.

I have a fairly old system:
933 MHz Pentium 3
TNT Voodoo 2 GTS video card
256 megs RAM
