The battle is a time limit of 60 minutes involving close combat wherein front-line infantry and armored fighting vehicles are pressed to defend or attack in a sector of maybe 500 meters by 500 meters (give or take a few hundred meters); everyone is risking his life. It has been my experience in the game, that when a troop was incapacitated, they were by very definition, useless. If the agenda is preserving life, the best way to aid both the living and wounded is to end the battle ASAP via any means at your disposal. :) The incapacitated soldiers are not immortal to battle, they are either wounded and able to return to battle or are wounded and no longer useful (orange and red crosses). I guess if the wounded soldiers are lying there and were being hit by mortar rounds and lived, it would be odd, but frankly I never paid close attention to this, so I am not certain that I agree with you. Proof? I just find it hard to believe that this game's developers would overlook something so obviously simple, and that is why I have not heard of anybody else than you being bothered to even question it.
