Sammy5IsAlive -> Leader promotions/dates (3/13/2018 1:46:36 AM)

Just wondering - does anybody have the dates for German leader promotions and when they leave the Eastern Front in a more 'browsable' format (eg an Excel file)?

I know the dates are in the editor but you can't have this open at the same time as the game and can only look at one leader at a time. I'm thinking of transferring the information across to an Excel file for the better leaders but it will be a little time consuming so just wondering if anybody has already done the work and is willing to share!

Cheers!

You can actually export them with the CSV function in the editor - and then open up and view in a spreadsheet. I have already done this with the latest version, so you can also PM me with an email address and I will send it to you.

BTW the dates in the CSV file saying when they leave the Eastern front feel more like fantasy now - I have commanders in place long after the scenario data says they should have left. Kesselring being a prominent example. From another thread there was an explanation given that they start having die rolls from that date for leaving rather than strictly leaving on that date. So even with the data we will need an explanation of how the game engine interprets it as it is not the common sense understanding f the column headings.

Many thanks to Omat who has emailed me the spreadsheet.

The bit about the leaders not actually leaving is interesting!

Even more interesting is the date it gives for Erwin Rommel arriving on the Eastern front when he had already died!

Hello

Rommel staring date is 11/45. The game ends Oct/45. So Rommel will never be available. Or in other word: None exsitent for a Player or simply the are deactivated.

Yes the WitE data set has many units, leaders and so on that arrive on turn 250 etc - that is to say not in fact possible. I assume they wanted some built in capacity in case they had wanted to modify or extend it. But it is amusing. And I think at least means the developers were considering other what-if scenarios.

Hello

Yes. With War in the East there was a plan for War in the West, which they have realized and is available. For War in the West Rommel was needed. There was somewhere a podcast where Joel Billings was telling about the plan for "future" games. They wanted to create a serie with War in Europe at the end. Did not find it right now....
