Hello dear friends. I'm a big fan of TOAW IV, however, it looks like that the community is too WW2 oriented. First of all, i have to say that i love WW2 thematics, but i love the modern ones either.

The problem is the lack of modern, and actual, scenarios.

I'm working on a version of South Ossetia War (2008) and one about the Syrian Civil War, however, it seems that there is no MAPS database so we have to waste hours and hours just to build the maps, not to mention the scenario by itself.[:(]

So, i'm here to ask two things.

Is there any database with MAPS to download that are compatible with TOAW IV?
Anyone interested in working together in those two mentioned scenarios?

I suppose there is no database of maps because everyone has the scenarios containing the maps and can look for themselves?

Although I don't know the scale you are planning, why at least consider using maps already created for these areas. With a few minor tweaks I am sure you could make them work for your scenarios. Extract the maps and crop them down to only include the area you want. Be sure to request permission from the creator before doing so and posting them.

For example:

The FITE2 map covers the entire entire of the South Ossetia conflict at 6km/hex. Likewise, the Directive 21 map covers the area at 10km/hex.

The Global Conflict 1988 includes all of Syria and it's neighbors at 20km/hex. Like The Great War 1914-18 also includes the Mid-East at approx 15km/hex.

Selva, over on the TOAW III forum user josant generously uploaded some maps that may be of use, one of Syria and one of Georgia. The original post was titled "many maps." This was back in late 2016 and I see that the older posts on that forum are gone now. However, I corresponded with josant by PM once and he seemed like a very nice and helpful fellow, he may be willing to send you these map files.

Selva, I looked a little closer, josant's post is still on the TOAW III forum, you just have to filter the posts to show all instead of last 365 days, titled "Many maps."

TOAW IV can not load TOAW III maps, I update all maps so they can be loaded in TOAW IV
