M4Jess -> (6/7/2003 7:23:10 AM)

:(

M4Jess -> (6/8/2003 10:28:20 PM)

All is good....

As the Poles fall back into their middle line of defence the Germans feel more and more heat from Orzels damm mines!!!:mad: Many ACs die to them this turn...:(

On the good side...Poles are on the run!!! I start smoking the last ridge line! ;)

Here I come Oman!

Orzel Bialy -> That's fine... (6/9/2003 2:14:58 AM)

you keep coming towards that final line. :cool:

Orzel Bialy -> GH was standing on the ledge of a building... (6/9/2003 3:13:35 AM)

and a strong wind whipped up and blew off his mask...and there stood Jess! :D

Orzel Bialy -> Hey Jess... (6/10/2003 5:46:03 AM)

are you ever going to play the turn? :rolleyes:
I'm beginning to think you're stalling!!! :mad: :mad: :mad:

LOL :D ;) :p

M4Jess -> (6/10/2003 6:06:51 AM)

Stall this sissy!:mad:

Mines mines mines mines mines mines

and

Mines...I close in through the center...while I lost many a Panzer..Polie is on the run! Now to the ridge!!!!

Orzel Bialy -> Boy... (6/10/2003 10:54:08 AM)

for all that talk of bashing Polish units left and right...you are not as far into my defensive line as you made it sound. :rolleyes:

Keep those panzers coming...even when the mines are no longer a factor you will still have plenty of Poles resisting you! :mad: :mad: :mad:

M4Jess -> The Battle for Bird Farm (6/12/2003 10:51:06 AM)

we are on the last 1/3 of the battle. Only 1/3 of the required VHs are in German hands. These Poles fight hard. Many more Panzers die to mines. The 2nd assault wave with fresh troops and Panzers move forward...and I have yet to hit F4..;)

I resupply my ammo and start to select massive arty zones....the boys are set and there are yet more troops moving forward...

This turn is the beginning of the end...which-ever way it goes....

"so let it be written ...so let it be done"

daddy is comming home......:mad:

Orzel Bialy -> The fighting is intense... (6/12/2003 11:28:44 AM)

My Poles fight hard to hold the line. :mad:

There are burning panzers scattered about the map...and German recon elements probe around...only to be whacked for their efforts.

Although my Poles may fall in the end to overwhelming firepower and numbers...they will make any German success a costly one.

M4Jess -> (6/15/2003 8:40:40 PM)

More and more Panzers die in the assault. German and Polish engineers enter hand to hand with the Poles comming out on top!:eek: These Polish fighters are starting to get a little respect from me..their tanks still suck;)

I make very little gain this turn and reinforcements are on the way!

Orzel Bialy -> The Brave Poles Resist... (6/15/2003 9:36:21 PM)

Jess and his German juggernaut find themselves engaged in a real brawl! :mad:

Even I have to admit my "awe" of the Polish engineers, who have done a fantastic job in throwing down an extra line of mines and then falling back and waiting for the German recon elements to show themselves.

The German panzers and infantry make little to no headway this turn...and while I doubt that my brave forces can withstand an all out re-inforced assault by the Germans...the damage they have inflicted so far should guarantee me a MD at worse...and perhaps even a DRAW.

ps...If I had to pick between the French and the Poles for pre 41'...give me the Poles! :D

Orzel Bialy -> Bump! (6/17/2003 9:47:49 PM)

Hey Sissy!?!?!

What...did my defense take the wind out of your sails??? lol :D

Stop stalling already! :rolleyes:

Heee heee heee....taunting Jess is fun! :D ;) :p

M4Jess -> (6/18/2003 6:01:30 AM)

That's right folks...step right up and get yourselves some good old fried Orzel, we have it Polish Osaboco, deep fried pickled feet (Polish style), Polish Arms and Legs! Bialy Double Deckered "Head on a Stick" and most of all...a 150mm morphine drop for good ol'Orzel...

I just love massed Arty! you?

:eek:

Orzel Bialy -> Baran's Battling Bastards... (6/18/2003 11:02:39 AM)

my Poles still hold their line, despite the heavy firepower arrayed against them. :mad:

Jess drops Heavy HE barrages all over the place...and some Polish units crack under the pounding...but unlike the French forces I have commanded in the past, I actually manage to rally at least 75%-80% of my affected units.

Several more German engineer units are dispersed...and I even manage to grab back a VH.

Seven more turns...:mad:

M4Jess -> (6/20/2003 5:48:09 AM)

*&^&%)(Y)(&(%*&$(^_)()*)(&%^$##$@*O&*_(~!!!!!!!:mad:

thats all I have to say:mad:

Orzel Bialy -> LOL... (6/20/2003 6:59:56 AM)

I'm going to take that as you had a really "harsh" turn that time through. :D ;) :p

Glad to hear it! :D

Orzel Bialy -> WOW!!! (6/20/2003 11:57:26 AM)

Despite the heavy caliber barrages falling all about my gallant Poles...I have to say I'm having some fun here! :p

Several more German engineer units are either finished off or driven back at several points along the front.

Smoke and flames cover vast areas of the wooded belt where most of Jess's German units must now reside...a virtual Hell on Earth.

To the north, several German infantry/engineer units are pushed back with heavy loss of life.

In the center, where there was a brief German breakthrough, a lone 88mm FLAK/AT gun sets up shop and is promptly fried by my Polish engineers.

To the south, more of the same as in the north...as packets of my armor reserves move forward to machine gun German units emerging from the woods...and then withdraw.

It's been a bloodbath...but my Poles are still holding out despite the overwhelming numbers and firepower they have had to face! :mad: :mad: :mad:

They aren't dead yet Jess!!! :D

M4Jess -> Re: WOW!!! (6/20/2003 6:23:16 PM)
They aren't dead yet Jess!!! :D
yet is the key word!;)

Orzel Bialy -> Bump... (6/22/2003 8:52:30 PM)

Thought I'd bump this one back up...so Jess doesn't lose sight of it. :D :p ;)

M4Jess -> (6/24/2003 6:42:44 AM)

The Bird Farm...is a firey mess with both sides taking heavy losses. I think Ken might be winning!:(

Or is he?;)

The fight is still on! Reinforcements are in battle as SS units charge up the middle and break through! !

whats the old song..."lets get it on"!

Orzel Bialy -> The Fighting Rages On... (6/24/2003 1:49:44 PM)

Jess has shoved a group of HT's and infantry (and I'm sure there has to be some armor somewhere in that cloud of smoke and fire as well) into the center of the Polish lines. :mad:

The fighting rages on...and the German infantry (SS included) falter momentarily as they are hit by Polish armor. :mad: :mad:

To the north...two more German units are finished off.

To the south...the same!

Everywhere along the line fighting continues and the Poles do not collapse...however I do not pretend that victory is near.:(

I know that I have not come even close to stinging Jess for 5+k of men and material he started with...nor the #'s he received as re-inforcements. Since there is far more German manpower than I will be able to deal with over an extended run...the aim now is to hold out for six more turns! :mad: :mad: :mad:

M4Jess -> (6/26/2003 12:15:10 AM)

I played 1/2 of my turn last night..I am in real bad shape!

where is GH when you need him!:(

Orzel Bialy -> Well..... (6/26/2003 5:08:41 AM)

I'd be lying if I were to say that I'm not laughing and smiling over that news! :p

What could be a better SPWAW Pbem than to beat up on Jess...using my beloved 1939 Polish forces???

Answer: NOTHING!!! :D

M4Jess -> (6/26/2003 6:47:13 AM)

Mines and Flaimthrowers Mines and Flaimthrowers Mines and Flaimthrowers Mines and Flaimthrowers Mines Mines and Flaimthrowers and Flaimthrowers Mines and FlaimthrMines and Flaimthrowersowers and and and .............................:mad:

I cant break through! :mad:

I still have 5 turns! :mad:

*&^#&^(^)(&(*^$%%^#$&^)_!!!!!!:mad:

Jess is mad:mad:

Orzel Bialy -> The Battle See-Saws... (6/26/2003 10:56:53 AM)

In the north Jess pushes German cavalry units into a breach...and only shear gallantry of a single Polish infantry unit and a MG bunker stave the charge off for now.

Elsewhere to the north more German engineers appear along with an 88mm gun...and these exchange small arms fire with my defending Polish forces. By the end of the turn it is status quo to the north...for now.

In the center Jess's thrust there seems to have faltered a bit. HT's retreat in terror of the Polish armor that has appeared...and his infantry units have been badly mauled. However...two of my tanks have their MG's fail...a very hard hit to my ability to stave off his advances! :mad:

To the south a couple more engineer units appear from the tree line...and fire fights ensue. By the end of the turn most of the German units have been forced to retreat back into the woods.

The fighting has been the bloodiest I have ever had in any prior Pbem! :eek: A whole stretch of the map is a belt of thick flames and smoke...marred by the burning hulks of AFV's of every type and size...German and Polish. (but mainly German...:p )

The question now is can my Poles stand firm for 5 more turns? :confused:
They have taken quite a pounding and the stress of battle is now showing through...so although I have bloodied Jess's German offensive, my own resources have now began to dwindle under the constant onslaught.

Yet...I am still defiant!!! :mad: :mad: :mad:

Orzel Bialy -> Hmmmm.... (6/28/2003 3:35:19 AM)

no turn???

What's a matter Jess....still stuck trying to break through???

M4Jess -> (6/28/2003 5:08:24 AM)

Flamb'e city! More and more hand to hand and Inf vs. Polish tanky's, I rushed a HT to two more VHs (just to pisoff Orzel;) )
I also took back two more at the Bird farm. I am trying to drop off 88s in the front line only to have them killed or forced to have the Inf pop smoke to hide them!:mad:

Bitter fighting all over the battle area!

Orzel Bialy -> Arty will Save the Day for Jess... (6/28/2003 10:38:54 AM)

Well...they tried...and they nearly did it. My brave Polish forces stood toe to toe with Jess and bloodied the German noses...but alas they have began to melt away on me now. :(

Jess has been rebuffed in the center but has broken through in the north with a lone PzIII and cavalry.

To the south his arty has been the deciding factor...and the toll on my troops has been heavier than they could evidently take. Despite the fact that they succeed in driving back a couple more German units...they are a spent force.

Four turns may be just out of their scope...:(

M4Jess -> (6/29/2003 9:49:35 AM)

I am winning !!!! Orzel is a sissy!

The attack is now back on schedule!

did I already say this...Orzel is a sissy!:mad:

Orzel Bialy -> Would you like... (6/29/2003 10:55:00 AM)

to at least send over the correct files...so I can attempt to salvage something? :mad: :mad: :mad:
