Only one source of slight confusion remains: If someone could give me the right path for user-made campaign files in a Steam install I would be very grateful. Thank you!

After some trial and error I realised that the .campaign file and the .png file with the graphic must be co-located with the scenario files of a series that was originally created to be played individually (i.e. not as constituent scenarios in a campaign).
