KenMech -> [WAD] Spoofing torpedo on re-attack (4/7/2018 9:44:05 AM)

I am playing NI Deliverance when I encountered this:

10/15/1975 8:27:39 AM - All weapon seekers were spoofed - weapon missed target

10/15/1975 8:28:23 AM - Torpedo Mk46 LWT Mod 2 #8181 is attacking K-452 with a base PH of 70%. Final PH: 70%. Result: 20 - HIT

10/15/1975 8:28:23 AM - Weapon: Mk46 LWT Mod 2 #8181 has impacted K-452.

Looks like the torpedo was spoofed but still managed to hit the enemy sub. I have a saved game before the attack but the results are not consistent.

Played a little more and this happened. Unless spoofing the torpedo makes it miss and try a re attack I am not sure.

Puciek -> RE: Spoofing torpedo on re-attack (4/7/2018 10:16:45 AM)

Got a save? It makes narrowing on what has happened much easier, but it likely is that the spoof only made the torpedo miss, instead of DUD-ing and then re-attacked.

Here is the saved game prior to first first attack when spoofed. I have played through it again but the results are pretty random.

Puciek -> RE: Spoofing torpedo on re-attack (4/7/2018 5:10:39 PM)

I couldn't reproduce it due to rng, but keep trying and keep the recorder on for each attempt. Then when you get this result, select "create blank scenario" from the main menu, go to game->recorder and click "load most recent". Then from top menu "editor" you can switch sides to see exactly what's going on (your side has a limited vision of what is exactly going on underwater, but switching to another side surely will fill in the blanks).

Dimitris -> RE: Spoofing torpedo on re-attack (4/7/2018 5:33:00 PM)

Both these logs seen perfectly normal. Notice the time gap between "all seekers are spoofed" and "torpedo is attacking.....hit"? This means the torp was spoofed, ran around, re-attacked and hit on the second attempt.

Please read the v1.14 release notes, we explain the mechanics of weapon re-attack in them.

Thanks.

Thanks, the explanation. I was just unsure if spoofing would end the torpedoes attack or would it re attack after a spoof, like it was doing.
