THE MAP Let's start with the map. We are going to make two. Why? To illustrate two techniques that are dramatically different--one allows you to create your own scenario map from scratch (medium complexity), the other allows you to "snip" a ready-made section from one of the three Desert War mega-maps (easy). The Snip Map Open the editor... [image]https://image.ibb.co/kBdJZS/Ruweisat_2.jpg[/image] Let's go find those mega maps. Select File/Open... [image]https://image.ibb.co/f7qkg7/Ruweisat_3.jpg[/image] Select Up One Level... [image]https://image.ibb.co/mothTn/Ruweisat_4.jpg[/image] Open the editorMaps folder... [image]https://image.ibb.co/jWUNTn/Ruweisat_5.jpg[/image] ...and we see three choices. Because 1st Alamein occurred in 1942, we'll select 1942_TileMap.scn [image]https://image.ibb.co/mLH98n/Ruweisat_6.jpg[/image] Now let's look at the map and figure out the coordinates for the upper left hand corner of our scenario map...300,70 looks good. Looking at the terrain, I think a 30 x 30 hex playing area is about right and matches the area of the original scenario... [image]https://image.ibb.co/hQL2dn/Ruweisat_9.jpg[/image] So...time to punch in the numbers. Go to File/Save sub-section of map... [image]https://image.ibb.co/ggY5g7/Ruweisat_7.jpg[/image] Enter the coordinates (300,700), dimensions (30 width, 30 height), a map name, and a scenario name...
