Newb Question:

Once these arrive via Noumea or Brisbane I notice that they usually arrive with some of their aircraft either damaged or in-reserve (usually both).

I have waited to see their status change, afterall they are located at size 9 airfields with plenty of air support units to service them, but there status never seems to change. Its only after I move them to a forward base that all of their air units fill out and become fully operational.

Is this by design? Once I get home I'll re-read the manual to see if it says anything about this, but this seems to mimic how new air units were handled in the old Pacific War game of Gary's. In that game, new air units would show up on the East Coast and you had to move them to forward bases to 'fill-out' for a few turns.

Thanks for any and all replies.

check the # of pilots your squadron has. If the unit has more machines than pilots, then the unmanned machines automatically come in either damaged or in "reserve"

Ahh...ok :)

This is a possibility that should have occured to me, but didn't

I'll check that out. Thank you much :D
