estaban -> How to defend/not defend Lunga!! (6/3/2003 8:10:07 AM)

How do you guys think the Japanese should defend/not defend Lunga?

How about, mine the crap out of everything in sight around Lunga?

Hi, The only reason to capture a base is to support the capture of the next base. Static defense will always lose.

As Mogami says ... it's a stepping stone in the chain with the end being Noumea :D

If you stay long enough to unpack your bags, you've given up already.

But that's only because my USN opponent has taken it back from my in late December 42. Making the rest of my bases unusable w/his B17's and B24's. :D :D :D

Tough to take Lunga back when you own Luganville and Efate and Noumea :D

Personally, he's got bigger problems then Lunga in late December. Stopping short is the greatest problem you can have as Japan.

If he's taking Lunga in Dec '42, you have completely lost the game anyways as you have not used Japan's resources well enough to drive farther south. :(

I know I've lost. But I'll keep playing until the only thing I have left is Truk. Some bad luck, but mostly bad decisions I made cost me big time.
