I haven´t played CMANO for about a year, but I had to buy and play this when I saw it. Its nearly the same set up as a scenario I suggested on here previously, but with the Indians making up for a relatively weak UK. Having played it through, I would say it was worth the price, as it was fun combining makeshift forces with the Indians, but I would pay a lot more for the scenario I suggested - and it seems likely that quite a few others would too. To recap, my proposed scenario takes place during a conventional US-China war in the Pacific. The US is hitting China´s oil refineries with deep strike assets, and the only way China can get enough oil to continue fighting is through the Pakistaní route via Gwadar. The UK is officially neutral in the war, but with France and the US has condemned China´s actions in the security council, and when Pakistan refuses to stop providing China with oil it decides to intervene (the US has not so far due to not wanting to fight one war in East Asia and another in the Middle East at the same time). China provides material to Pakistan, including DF-21DS and J-31s. The UK has somehow managed to achieve the goals laid out in the 2015 defence review (the scenario takes place in 2025), and has two carriers with four squadrons of F-35s. It has also managed to get a few ospreys to tank for them, as well as drop tanks for the f-35s. All these elements mean that the neither side can truly outrange the other (I have tested this part). The UK seems like it may actually get Wedgetail soon, so these might also be added to the mix (although Pakistan may need some more material from China in this case). The UK also has the use of Diego Garcia, but due to the distance it will require most of the tanker fleet to get reasonable numbers of Typhoons involved. Actually I see it as being a couple of scenarios: the first an air/naval war with the carriers hitting targets near Karachi that have been gathered there in anticipation of an Indian land offensive; the second would involve an amphibious landing near or in Gwadar. The first part would be the most fun to play though. I think the scenario would appeal to anyone interested in the UK´s defence plans, as it would be a good test of what kind of capablity the UK would actually be buying under the current plans (with their renewed emphasis on expeditionary warfare). It would also be an interesting test of some of the more eyecatching Chinese developments, as well as pitting both the UK and Pakistan against a fairly well matched adversary, which wouldnt be the case if they went up against China or India respectively. Well, that´s my scenario, now I just need to find someone to make it for me!
