19c -> Waterloo Series (5/17/2018 9:52:51 PM)

I've installed the Waterloo Series game, and sad to see it has only one tutorial. This is less than helpful.

Also, disappointed that I cannot download the manual to .pdf; apparently in packaging all the Waterloo Series games together they saved space by skimping on things I really need to learn to play the game. I'd like to read it on a different device, such as my phone or an iPad or laptop, but it's on my big iMac - I use parallels desktop and I'm happy with that for this game.

Any suggestions on how to learn the game without spending hours a day experimenting at the brigade level in a scenario?

Search for 'WarForGame Tutorial Channel' on youtube. 14 Videos of how to master the ai system in the game which is really what it's all about. You need to let the ai make a number of local decisions for you otherwise you will get swamped trying to play.

the tutorials were written by the designer of the ai and some of the WL scenarios. English is not his native language but persevere.

look in the \Docs folder for the pdf version of the manual.

cheers

Beside the other youtuber mentioned I´ve learned a lot from watching this guy playing Gettysburg tutorials and explaining it:

It is the predecessor however it looks to me that it comes with more complex tutorials that explain aspects that are the same or very similar to Waterloo.
