I am afraid, that as principally a games collector, I only have an interest in physical versions of games.

I thought I would order the Operational art Of War IV using a recently supplied loyalty bonus code that will give me 35% off. I went through the process to order a physical version with its printed manual.

However after I saw the price went up by £15, after I selected a boxed copy (ok there is 35% of off that), and then the site tried charging me a wopping £16+ for DHL postage (why? - just to send a disk is just £3.72) I gave up. Think about that - if it wasn't for the bonus code you would be charging £72 for a manual - a burnt disk and a box.

I appreciate these games take an incredible amount of time to develop and going to a niche market but and I respect that, but despite being a customer for longer than I can remember, I think you are pricing yourselves out the market for anybody who wants something physical from you.

Yeah, I tried taking this up some time after release as well. Ordering a physical copy doubled the price of the game at full price.

Probably Matrix/Slitherine have made an exclusive "deal" with DHL to handle all shipping. Basically it means DHL can up the price whenever they feel like it as they are the only option.

I live in a place where we are used to waiting 3-4 weeks for overseas orders. I have no problem with this for ordering physical goods, and I have absolutely no need for next-day service or having it delivered to my doorstep, its not a long walk to the post office.

So why can't I choose standard international shipping through USPS?

This isn't really a TOAW IV question. It's a Matrix question. It should be directed to one of the central forums. Nobody on this forum has anything to do with this issue.
