Ignore this post. Ignore this thread.* Let it die and quickly fade to back pages.

*I meant to post a query to the main room. I'll try again there. I apologize for mucking up the sanctity of the AAR page.

BillBrown -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (6/15/2018 6:35:33 PM)

At the top of the page click on "my profile" then the "my subscriptions" tab and uncheck everything there.

Canoerebel -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (6/15/2018 6:37:03 PM)

Thanks, Bill. Due to my edit of the original post, your reply is going to seem highly unresponsive to this thread. [:D]

Zorch -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (6/15/2018 6:44:01 PM)

We need an AAR between 2 gamers of the female persuasion.
I wouldn't ignore it. [;)]

Canoerebel -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (6/15/2018 6:47:56 PM)

The closest we could get would be Graffin Zeppelin vs. Chickenboy. [:)]

Oh, don't get yer ovaries in a bunch, CR. While I'm winsome enough for two, I would demure to your genteel Southern Belle features and characteristics. [:'(]

After Action Report with this kind of title... [:D] We should disregard it to the max

Dang! I was hoping for a "behind-the-scenes" look at Tokyo Rose or Orphan Anne. [8D]

So what kind of query involves "Women of WitP"? Hmm? [:-] [:)]

How about a photo essay?

OK. You asked for it.

Here's Canoerebel in all his winsome and supple Northwest Georgia glory. Admittedly, this was a picture he shared with us a few years ago, so I think he may have deteriorated a bit in the interim.

not that bad!

Canoerebel -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (6/16/2018 8:01:59 PM)

That's a self-portrait of Chickenboy. He was in the act of repeating the old boot camp slogan, "This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for killing, this is for fun." Then he unsuccessfully sought to discharge "his weapon," misfiring repeatedly.

Grfin Zeppelin -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (8/8/2018 10:31:58 PM)

I am so disregarding this, especially after that picture.

RangerJoe -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (8/9/2018 12:39:18 AM)

A recruit in boot camp mistakenly asked the drill sergeant to help him "rod his gun" with a cleaning rod with the copper wire brush. The drill sergeant was eager to help - then the private realized just what he had said . . .

That is probably because there is no bier in the picture.

CPO: Gee fellas, you already cleaned that gun about 7 times today ...
Sailors: Chief, practice makes perfect... we're sure to hit jackpot this time!

Or "Never in the field of human conflict was gun cleaned so much by so few with such a zeal." [:D]

Bif1961 -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (8/9/2018 4:25:55 PM)

Ladies you think this gun is big?

It is not the size, it is how you use it. While Lake Superior is not as large as the oceans, mariners think the the same size storms are more dangerous.

Also, that is an AA gun for relatively close in work and not shooting at targets far away. Why use a buffalo gun on a pigeon? That is, if you could hit a pigeon with a buffalo gun.

Canoerebel -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (8/9/2018 7:26:32 PM)

I watched a bit of Flags of Our Fathers a few nights ago. The naval bombardment of Mount Surabachi caught my attention. I don't know smaller naval guns well, but it looked like they were firing pom-poms or other AA guns. Would they have done so? I can't imagine, but neither should I assume.

RangerJoe -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (8/9/2018 7:55:09 PM)

They would use anything that they could. Even the landing craft had 40 mms that they would use.

Bif1961 -> RE: Women of WitP:AE (8/9/2018 10:29:31 PM)

Yes they would get close enough to use them against cave openings as they have a very flat trajectory.
