Cona -> REAR and FLANK shots on leg units (6/10/2001 12:45:00 PM)

Should REAR and FLANK shots on enemy infantry from unspotted friendly units receive a "bonus" ? What do you think ? Saludos a todos, Cona.

I think that they get a bonus. When enemys vehicle drives next to infntry and dont see them, there is bonus attack ? Steel

With no doubts they should have an advantage...people protecting himself in cover from a facing firing enemy are SURELY without a cover in their back But it seems to me the game cares in some way the game about this.

I think since infantry has 10 to 12 guys in a 40 to 50 meter area - they would have somebody looking every direction. So, to get a "rear" shot on them is VERY onlikely. Figmo

Depends on the experience level of the men. If in a fire fight green troops are not as aware and can be caught from the flanks. Veteran troops will be far less cooperative even in the thick of battle. I don't know how well the volunteers have modeled this as the game has progressed.

The only effect on the game on "being flanked or surrounded" is if a unit can only retreat into a hex adjacent to an enemy that has shots remaing (not Special opfire) then it has a chance to surrender in stead. Unis wil no shots remaining don;t count and before you complain that is ridiculous...that is the way SP "has always done it" we just modified the chances...
