Keeping up my tradition of asking one question a day, I ask the following:

Does the command radius for corp/army/air HQs extend across water? For example:

-Army/corp HQs give +10% combat strength adjustment to any units within a 6 hex radius

-Air divisions increase the number of aircraft that will fly on a mission for any air bases within 3 hexes.

-Air fleets/armies increase the number of aircraft that will fly on a mission for any air bases within 6 hexes

So, if you put an army HQ on an island, would it increase the combat value of a unit on another island 5-6 hexes away, or does the "command effect" not extend across sea hexes? To a lesser extent, I am wondering if the command effect extends across mountain hexsides, but really that only affects things in a very small part of New Guinea that is seldom fought over.

I suppose I would like to know if the "command radius" extends through enemy units as well, so if an enemy unit is between your HQ and a unit, does the enemy unit block the "command radius"?

From my experience, the HQ effect always works within the hex distance. I think it's more a command effect (coordination, intelligence and communications imporved) than logistics (so needing a direct access between bases).

So an air HQ in Guad will affect Russel and Tulagi for example. Another in Dobadura will cover Buna, PM and one of the islands (Woodlark ?) if I remember well

Careful there, the ranges vary based on side played. They can be as low as 1 hex.
