Cyric -> Few map critics needed...... (6/11/2001 10:18:00 PM)

....I've been making maps like i was possessed. What i would like is someone to take a good hard look at them ( 3 of the best in my opinion ) One small town with a industrial area One swampy, muddy region and one forestal region with a hint of humor. So if anyones interrested in giving me a few well placed pointers email me and i'll zip the maps up and send them to you... Achilles@MBnet.fi P.S. Also if someone is in need of maps for some reason, i can mail these, 'cause they are for anyones use.....Not only for myself.... Good pointers there Jack. Thanx. That invisible building thingie can be a killer if you haven't been informed about it. Luckily i've had my apprentice time with Mosh and he helped me through the usual traps.... :D :D [ June 11, 2001: Message edited by: Cyric ]

What I have learned from making maps is a couple of things. 1. Is the map for a pbem game. Because if it is you have no control over the location of the reinforcement hex location so beware. What I mean by that is when you do play against yourself the first thing you want to do is see were the reinforcement hex is. If it is in a unfair location like swamp or something like that you will have to modify the terrain to make it fair for both sides. 2. Playtest your map yourself. How do you do this you ask. Have a hotseat game against yourself. One coy of armoured cars something fast. Run along all the roads. Looks can be deceiving and there could be invisible buildings. I promised myself all maps will be playtested by me before Tankhead gets one. The other thing is make the map when you are in the mood and the quality will be that much better. Some of the info is out of sequence but you know what I mean. [ June 11, 2001: Message edited by: Jack ]
