Courtenay -> Off topic: Ju-52 crash (8/6/2018 9:58:40 PM)

Just read that a Ju-52 crashed in Switzerland, killing 20 people. The plane was one of those that bombed Guernica; during the war it was one the planes that tried to supply Tunisia. This leads me to wonder how much other World War II hardware is still being used. There are still a fair number of DC-3s flying around, and of course there is the USCGC Eagle; what else is there that is still being used?

This organization has quite a few aircraft still flying.

Edit: they are probably not "working" aircraft, outside of air shows and the occasional movie, I expect.

There's a lot still flying.

I've been to a WW II fly show in England about 10 years ago.

At least 100 planes were at the airfield. I saw DC-3's, Spitfires, Hurricanes, Messerschmidts, Focke Wulf 190's, a Fokker D-XXI, a Japanese Zero, Stuka's, Ju-52, a B-17, Lancaster, Hudson, Catalina Amphibious plane, Swordfish and even a Macchi and a Sturmovik were present.

And there was continuous flying of the old planes to.
