Agathosdaimon -> Looking for patches for old Matrix Game "La Grande Armee at Austerlitz" (8/9/2018 10:10:36 AM)

Hi!
I had not had any luck getting this "La Grande Armee at Austerlitz", the precursor to Histwar working in the past on windows 7, but jsut now i installed it v1.0 and to my surprise it is working fine on windows 10 with tweaking of compatibility even needed. - Now that i have this awkward but not too bad game working, i am looking for one of its patches - i think there were 3 in all and am wondering if anyone here may have them - a long shot i know - in particular 1.2 patch - 1.1 and 1.3 i have found online in the past

thanks!

if there is a 1.1 patch, i can't find it atm either, so maybe the original game was 1.1 on release?

Thanks for that! hmm it must have been 1.1 i was after, i will try it with the ones you have listed - i had problems in the past, but maybe it might work this time given the base game is now working for me. the game version upon install is 1.0

Ah thanks, but you have a differ La Grande Armee game in mind -those patches you found are for Adanac's 1806 game (the almost entirely forgotten precursor to Campaigns on the Danube)- i have that one, the disk at least, but what iwas referring to is the game by Jean Michel Mathe, not the Adanac Frank hunter game

this is the one i am meaning

i am just trying those two patches though now to see if they are all i need

zakblood -> RE: Looking for patches for old Matrix Game "La Grande Armee at Austerlitz" (8/9/2018 12:23:50 PM)

is it the matrix version? as i'm sure they must keep backup copies etc?

Agathosdaimon -> RE: Looking for patches for old Matrix Game "La Grande Armee at Austerlitz" (8/9/2018 12:31:44 PM)

it does have matrix games on the cover and the game installs itself to a folder named matrixgames even

well i think those two 1.2 and 1.3 patches worked, though unfortunately the game has some random freezes now, but running it through dxwnd may have fixed this - i guess for anyone interested in games like this it is better to go with SOW Waterloo and Histwar, but i like old buggy games, and this one is though one of the better old ones i think in that the AI performs well with both allied and enemy ai behaviour, with charging, forming squares, supporting, bombarding etc
