ectizen -> Scenario Wrangler & scenario design tools (6/12/2001 3:33:00 AM)

The premier SP:WAW scenario management tool, Scenario Wrangler, has finally been updated. :D Version 0.2 brings to the world the ability to print out fairly verbose listings of your scenarios, saved games, maps and campaigns. :eek: Alas, sorting is still just a dream, but it will come. One day... Sadly, campaigns also suffer from a limited implementation. *sigh* :( You can obtain your very own copy of Scenario Wrangler from the link in my signature below. Or, if that's too hard ;), you can get it here. :) [ June 17, 2001: Message edited by: ectizen ]

Thanks for the encouragement guys! *bump* Actually, this isn't just a bump. I've just made available a couple of obscure, highly specialised map/scenario proccessing tools. I call them Scenario Designer's Quickies, mainly because they're small(ish), very simple, and each performs a single task. There are two currently available, with more to come. These are a precursor to an upcoming tool, but more on that one later :) The first Quickies are:
• Mud Remover - simply removes the "mud" attribute without changing the images.
  • Muddy Roads - converts all secondary roads to mud, again without changing the images.
If you're interested, you can pick 'em up through the link down there in my signature. RockinHarry: These ones are a little friendlier than the ones you have. Not much friendlier, just a little. You might want to upgrade. :)

    Wow, ECitizen! You just keep doing good things! Thanks. I've already downloaded it. Now I'm off for a look at it...Wild Bill

    Hey ectizen, did I say you are a wizzard?! :D These "quickies" work perfectly and I think mosh will especially love the "muddy road" tool. :D Mud Remover is a great drying tool and I think the germans would have payed you billions for it during the russian mud periods on the eastfront! :eek: ...although I use it more for a special purpose. What about another tool to make dry maps muddy? (clear/grass/fields terrain prefered with some randomness) ________ Harry

    skukko -> (6/15/2001 2:10:00 AM)

    Hi guys :D Problem is not that mud in/on/ the roads image. Its the mud that ain't around the road. If you for example make muddy roads with this great mud-tool (yes I like it) to clear/grassy map; you'll get AI to move off the road. Even when you'll move your own vehicles/infantry. This is the problem. So I stay with my multilayer-style design when it comes to make muddy map/road. Would it be hard to do quickie for rough-terrain tile? I mean that if I have muddy road, I can force AI to drive on the road only by making surrounding terrain cost more movement points. So in this case I'd like to have tool to make terrain that looks like 'clear', (or muddy) but is actually 'rough'. But then it looses visility and I need to learn after all Freds editor correctly... LOL mosh :D

    ectizen -> (6/15/2001 2:12:00 PM)

    RockinHarry: Randomness? I like it! mosh: So Muddy Roads would be better if it made invisible rough in the neighbouring, non-clear hexes? We can do that. Watch this space...

    The SD Quickies have been updated, and a couple added. The new ones are called
• Mud Flinger
  • Swamp Enhancer
Check here for more deatils. The only other thing worthy of mention is that optional randomness has been added. For fast downloading, use the fast download links ;)

    hi, just would like to know if this mentioned "Mountainizer" thing is expected to come at a later time or cancelled?! Also I´m interested to know if gamers would like to see higher hills in SPWAW like in SP2WW2 maybe?? ________ Harry
