Hello All,
I have been playing this game for 8+ years now, but this is my first post. I'm asking for some help on a situation
that I find myself in.
I am playing PBEM BTS Lite by John 3rd as the allies.
We are 7 months into the mod, and I am ready to start my offensive. The problem that I am having is that none of my
bombers will fly missions. This includes HBs and MBs, both US and Australian from bases in Australia. That is 15 BGs,
and not one will fly.
All the bases are built up to 5+, and well supplied. All groups have been training for 7 months, so are experienced.
All groups are within range of an HQ.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, and what is the solution?
The game is on hold right now, and I would really like to continue.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Many factors may be involved here, you simply don't give enough info to make a determination. My first thought is are you attempting to fly them in w/o escort. This will often keep bombers grounded.

I had the same problem in the Solomon Island area, where around 20-25 B-24, B-25, HudsonIII(LR) and B-17 groups sometimes just didn't fly for days on end. I couldn't figure out why.

However after slowing down the replay, I managed to nail one of these instances where 20+ groups didn't fly to just one quick message that appeared on screen, during the PM phase of the replay, see the picture.
This message just displays once on screen during the replay, no matter if you fly 1 BG to the target or 250.

It cannot be found later in any of the reports as far as I can tell and doesn't appear in the log in the lower left corner during the replay, so it is very easy to miss.

Like rustysi points out, you didn't provide a lot of information, so I might be wrong, but studying the on screen replay carefully could clear things up.

Check your units and see what percentage you have them designated to do things?
While sometimes fighter units training are often be pulled into combat on their own...bombers will NEVER engage if in training.
Do you have pilots assigned to the units?

You did not provide any details and sometimes even the simplest of things might be the problem.

This forum will always be the best place to ask questions and it feeds our ego to be able to assist.[:D]

I just came off a period in my game against Anarcho where I had 40-60 Betty/Nell fly and attack troops at Ambon and over a period of 6-7 turns they flew, attacked at 8,000Ft and did NO DAMAGE!

Sometimes it is better for the planes NOT to fly then watch them fly, fight, and achieve ZERO.

Not much consolation but...

John...You and I were around a few years back when some folks claimed bombers were too successful against ground targets, and the planes got "dumbed down" a lot.
I believe you have been a victim of this?...Just my two cents.

No, it is not surprising given Jungle/Rough terrain and forts (and the small bomb load of Japanese 2 EBs). Weather could also have contributed to poor aim.

Pretty crazy what happens when 'little' things get tweaked. All sorts of unplanned repercussions.

Not an uncommon occurrence when it comes to code.
