Buckrock -> RE: Japanese Ops in the DEI - Free downloads (11/6/2018 12:26:29 PM) Both volumes start that way (economic background, etc) but from there on it's nearly all about the evolving overall military planning for and then the execution of that part of the Southern Offensive relating to the DEI. It's a fairly detailed account of those joint Army and Navy operations from the Japanese side, including how and why they changed their plans as the Southern Offensive unfolded. It was probably the (very brief) high point of the war in terms of Japanese Army-Navy co-operation and operational flexibility.
