So glad this game offers it. I was wondering/hoping for just a little bit more.
Is there anyway, short of using 'Magnifier', to increase the font sizes a little more?
Would the 'fix' be in the data/graphics/gui folder?

Would also be useful if it was possible to toggle components of the UI on/off (or reduce mag factor below 1). Play 50% on laptop only, so screen real estate is prime (to see my forces being annihilated!).

There you find the different UI themes: 1.0x 'theme', 1.2x 'theme_small', 1.4x 'theme_medium', 1.8x 'theme_large' and 2.2x 'theme_huge'. Each of them has the theme.css, and you find the button font sizes there. For example, 'button.fast' is the right-click command menu 'fast' button.

Thank you Veitikka.
I have fooled around with this file without any success. Of course...I have no clue what to do. :)
For the record my main concern is text.

OK i'll ask I have found the gui file how do I change it. I have looked at all file small medium large. butt they all look the same. Why does the game default to small icons etc

Veitikka -> RE: UI Scaling (11/24/2018 4:28:54 PM)

Ok so let's start with this question: What UI scale are you using? 1.0x, 1.2x, 1.4x, 1.8x or 2.2x?

eddieballgame -> RE: UI Scaling (11/24/2018 5:49:14 PM)

I am using 2.2x &, for me, the text on many screens is too small for my liking.
However, I am able to experiment with multiple resolutions (thank you for that) allowing me to choose a setting that is reasonable.
The Database Editor is the most difficult for me to read at the moment. My eyesight is not poor just...aging.

For those having the same issue as I, simply play around with the many resolution options & or try out 'Magnifier'.
I will add, I edited the 'font_size' numbers in the 'theme_huge' folder 'theme' file with no effect.

btw, thank you for your time Veitikka

What is the window resolution you've been using? I believe the minimum window size for the 2.2x (huge) UI scale is 2253x1690 pixels. If your window is not large enough then a smaller UI scale is picked instead. That's why the 'theme_huge' changes might not have any effect.

Currently the database editor UI is not scaled.

I am normally using 1920x1080, but make adjustments to get my desired results.

1.4x 'theme_medium' is the largest UI scale available for 1920x1080.

2.2x works for me in 1920x1080. I will add I use a couple of different monitors & find the 'desktop' setting to be most helpful.
Problem is always the same with the editor...text is just too small unless I use 'Magnifier'.
I use 1.5 readers, so my sight is not terrible.
