to make sure it's not a firewall issue is simple, just go to

and make sure there is a tick in both boxes, if you installed the game as install as admin and run as admin, this isn't needed, as the game sets up the correct file permissions to run and auto update on the the first use, if you didn't, then that's any ones guess same as using a none default firewall or antivirus from the normal one which comes with windows.

this is for the in game updater, which btw works fine, and done it 3 times yesterday and just tried it again today, but the FTP links are WIP and have been reported, but until a reply is here saying it from staff, it's asap only i'm sorry to say

Well, it looks like they partially fixed it. The Auto updater still doesn't work but at least I can download the from the main link in the Member's section now.

just tested it twice about an hour a go, and the in game auto updater worked fine, as long as you give it permissions to run and go through your firewall, it works and installs the update fine, if it's blocked, you get an error on no connection etc, so that's your firewall blocking it and not a game issue

Got the same thing here on first try (checked for updates from game menu). Clicked 'Back' and tried again, and it worked; v1.02 in splash screen. I was also monitoring my AV software (Bitdefender) and made sure it wasn't blocking the update connections (it wasn't).

if Bitdefender hasn't logged it as blocked, then it wasn't that which was stopping it, as anti virus and firewall log files they block / stop etc, if either wasn't blocking it on the first run, and you altered nothing and it worked on the 2nd, then just a poor handshake and bad connection on the first, but again not a issue with the installer, just an issue on the connection, eg too busy, poor connection, bad line and the list goes on to endless tbh but as long as it works in the end, that's all well and good.

but poor and or bad local loop issues happen, and can't be helped or put down to one end or the other, that's the joy of the internet i'm sorry to say

I'm gonna say it's probably a server issue - especially combined with the occasional Matrix site outages/slowness, it's not unlikely that at certain points (especially when a lot of users try to get on at the same time), the server isn't coping with the load. Fix your stuff, Matrix [:'(]

(today I again tried the update check from home, and this time it worked flawlessly)

I could download the patch today from the website and install it that way. At least now that link is working.

I'm using Avast Premier, and FTP download link still does not work even though I turn off Avast. But start menu update worked after I turn off Avast.

So... I still think there is something else other than fire wall. Not sure what is that. But anyway I updated via start menu option.

don't take it personally but Avast is one of the worse problems with stuff not working here, it's a very poor and game unfriendly AV, best advice is to add the game exe and the updater to the white or safe list and then you won't have an issue again, or better still get one that is more game friendly and imo 100% better

Slitherene's/Matrix Update files have not been working for some time now.
To download the Update files for any game I have been successful going to the Core link & downloading the Update files from there.

I have tried to access the patch via:

- The link in the OP (Members Area)
- Link on the product page (http://www.matrixgames.com/products/685/downloads/Armored.Brigade)
- Auto Updater

None of these three methods works as of 15th December 2018, 4:31 PM AEST.

EDIT: This is the error I get with the auto updater. Note that my version of Windows 10 seems to arrange things a bit differently from yours zak

Yeah... almost every time I try to use the Matrix update program from the Launch Screen. Doesn't matter what game; doesn't matter what computer. I never even try to update from the launch menu any more.
