Questions:

1. Exactly what is the DC: Community Project? Is it an editor, a game engine or...?

2. Must I load the DC: Community Project (v.93) in order to play a Scenario (November 1942) built by it? Or,
will the scenario simply play under my DC: Barbarossa game?

Welcome Rick,
Yes it is a new engine with a powerful editor and you need it to play the scenarios. The engine is not compatible with DC1, DC2 or DC Barbarossa.

In a technical sense DC:CommunityProject is closest to DC2:Case Blue , rulewise.

In order not to start a new topic for a simple question, I'll ask here: are the troop types (infantry, artillery, inf. guns etc.) hardcoded or is it possible to change their behaviour or make new ones?

You can mod 99% of the database !
You can start from a white paper and design a new world !
Clearly it is faster and simply to mod an existing game than made a new one !
I suggest start with a little map and few units (like my SOLTSY 1941) to understand the logic of the game.

Thanks for the advice, really appreciated! But how exactly do you add new troop types? If I wanted, say, to include helicopters as a troop type, how would I have to go about it?
