US moves loaded TRANS from West Coast to Midway.

USSR starts railing Zhukov west.

The Chinese make a couple of minor adjustments.

The Allies advance into Belgium to take up new defensive positions. Elsewhere there are some adjustments in Yugoslavia.

CW rebases both Spitfires to Lille.

France makes a couple of rebases to keep fighter support available to the front lines.

Gort reorganises the Belgium INF in Antwerp.

The weather turns fine everywhere.

Two comments and a question:

I would have put all the damage from the surprise port strike on the Italian transports. Knocking out one battleship, while nice does not have a decisive effect on the war in the Mediterranean. Knocking out all Axis transports can have a much larger effect.

Also, I would have put the two Belgian CPs in the Belgian Congo, where they would be have been safe even if the Germans had taken Antwerp on the first turn.

Lastly, are we sure that the Germans aren't using a four sided die for land combat?

just an FYI - the final retreat priority possibility is

to a hex in enemy ZOC
but with friendly units
and causing over-stacking

in that case, the retreating unit then has to be retreated again (and can even be retreated again after that), until there is no over-stacking in any hex

so as long as Poland still controlled the hex due east of Warsaw (as there does not appear to be a ZoC on it), a unit could have retreated out of Lodz.

Not that anyone would usually pick Blitz for such a combat. But the Retreat possibility would be a factor in what happens on a Shatter result.

I did think about going for both TRANS but as the likely result of the X was going to be ‘Damaged’. I thought I’d put it on the more expensive to repair BB.

There may be a bug as I couldn’t put the Belgium CP’s in the Congo. Got an error message about having to place them in a controlled hex. I’ll post it to Tech Support.

In Yugoslavia the Germans win the fractionals throw and make it 3:1. A 2 was thrown. The Germans lose a unit and all are disorganised.

In China a 6 was thrown and the defending army destroyed. The US are outraged by the occupation of the city (a 1 is thrown and a chit drawn)

Edit: It looks like I've taken the wrong screen shot in Yugoslavia. The SS Division is taken as the hit.

French sub initiates combat in Italian Coast. The Italians have several aircraft to fly in some air support. Z.501 and SM.79 can get to the 2-box. Z.1007 and CR42 can reach the 1-box and the C.200 the 0-box.

The longest range bomber go to its max box please, the other two go to the 0-box - I assume no Allied fighters can fly?

No Allied fighters available.

Searches: Allies 3, Axis 5. The Allies choose 0-box only. Four surprise points used to choose sub combat. The remaining two will go to increasing damage.

The Allied subs are sent back to port.

The French sub aborts to Marseilles, the CW ones to Malta.

I send the Italian one back to La Spezia, as the others are based there. Can be changed if required.

The French swap a couple of units around at the front.

No combat, rebases or reorgs.

The turn continues on a 9 and the weather stays fine.

Can anyone remember how to call up the naval display - not the NRD or NRS but the other one? Damned if I can remember or can find it in the manual.
