Kilroy -> Reinstallng UV (6/18/2003 8:38:15 AM)

Hi guys, have a little problem after running a system restore . I thought I'd lose everthing except factory specs, but it seems a few of my progams are still , with a little fudging up and running. However when I try UV it states reinstall. Checked my files and everything inside yhe UV folder is still there including the patches and a bunch of goodies I downloaded from you all. I'd appreciate any help primarily to avoid the hassle of do'in all the updates again. And a warning to anyone in my shoes with three teenage daughters delete KAZA from your machine, even with no kids.

Thanks, Greg Kilroy

Just to clarify a bit, I have a new machine and through my ignorance didn't make any recovery discs. Just used the factory restore. And my reference to Kaza was that was the cause of underlying mess.

Sounds like your registry entries are gone but the files remain..

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

HEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Matrix Games]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Matrix Games\Uncommon Valor]
"version"="v2.30"
"installed"="TRUE"
"installed to"="C:\\whereever"
"username"="yourame"
"company"=" "

Cut & paste the above lines to a text file, save it as uv.reg and double-click it to import it back to your registry.

You'll have to edit the installed to & username after the fact in regedit, but it should get you running. Note the \\ on C:, a double \\ is required as it gets escaped...
