I've been having some difficulty getting a Yak-141 onto RFA Argus for a scenario I'm doing (better not to ask) so I set up a test run. DB3K Build 476:
Add a side.
Add #1055 Atlantic Conveyor somewhere in the water.
Add #787 Harrier GR.3 (1982) with a ferry loadout next to it.
Tell the Harrier to land.
We all know what should happen at this point, the Harrier should land on the Atlantic Conveyor using its only air handling facility, the Pad (1x Large Aircraft). The Harrier is Medium so there's no issue there, but the aircraft will tell you it can't find a base. If you manually assign it to Atlantic Conveyor the log says:
"Failed to set Commercial Atlantic Conveyor [RO/RO] as the new base for Harrier GR.3. Reason: The aircraft cannot be hosted on any air facility here"
True enough, attempting to do it from the other end it says that you can't add a Harrier to the base because it exceeds maximum parking space, but a Medium size Chinook HC.1 fits just fine.
So, first of all, bug report because this surely isn't intended behaviour for pads and VTOL aircraft. Secondly, does anyone have an idea for a quick workaround solution to the Argus/Freestyle problem, like using some unit property finagling to nail a full flight deck to the Argus? The side the Argus will be on won't have any other fixed wing aircraft so pretty much everything is on the table.
